Smoking

“Failure is only permanent if you give up.”
If you’re a smoker, this YouTube video may not be a new one to you. In fact you may have seen the original clip on Jay Leno more than two years ago. If you’ve not seen it, you’ve probably had plenty of people tell you about it. Yep, it’s a fact that it’s old news. It may even be old news that you’re still smoking. It may even be old news that you’ve tried to quit smoking dozens of times, and cigarettes remain the constant companion.

Those of us at Health Style Lifestyle are not intending to fill this page with the health benefits of becoming smoke free. No one here is knocking the fact that you are a smoker. Instead, we present this video clip as a reminder that there numerous ways to conquer addictions of all types. And each person must find just what works for them. Becoming a non-smoker, like other lifestyle changes also requires experimentation.

Contrary to the belief of many, continuing to smoke is not about failure. When the addicted makes a sincere effort, a gain is achieved. Forgive us but we’ve promised to include this old cliché, “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten.”

Ready to break new ground like Matt Damon? You’ve tried other no smoking ads, campaigns, patches and even cold turkey. If the hypnosis approach is yet untried, what do you have to loose? Spending your $$ on a carton, try a few $$ on a hypnosis program. We are comfortable endorsing: Click Here then see page 2. It’s your ticket to new freedom!

We’ve one quick story to add. It’s of a friend who, under the care of a pulmonary specialist, quit smoking for six months in order to prepare for surgery. She mounted an attack on her addiction recognizing its importance if she was to breeze through her surgery. She remained smoke free for over a year until her mother died. Regretfully, she resumed smoking to deal with the stress of her loss. In less than a year, unable to breath, she was placed on oxygen and though reluctant, now carries her oxygen to work with her. She harbors guilt over the fact that she began smoking again with the resultant ill health. One can’t help but ask if Matt Damon’s approach might have led to success in dealing with her stresses.

When a person has tried everything else, and still wants to quit smoking, the weakness is in ignoring alternatives that have helped others. Hypnosis, phony trickery you say. There’s plenty of evidence to support that belief, to be sure. There are those willing to sell you programs to influence others through hypnosis. There are indeed charlatans. Look more closely, check out medical sites and see what they have to say about the benefits of hypnosis. You’ll discover that serious hypnosis is nothing more than deep relaxation. It’s nothing to fear because you remain in control. The use of hypnosis is a relaxed state that allows you to tap your own subconscious in a fashion that trains your mind. That said, if hypnosis through deep relaxation has been ignored in the past, it could now be your time to become smoke free.

There is no failure in trying, “Failure is only permanent if you give up.”

  6. My friends have been trying to quit smnoking using an electric cigarette but it hasn’t worked well for them. They found that since they still have the same routines it was easier to relapse. I suppose it works for some but not other but as with all habits your trying to break, unless your hearts really in it, it’s not likely you will succeed.
